Benjamin Johncock was born in Canterbury, Kent and read Ancient History and Archaeology at the University of Birmingham.
He wanted to be a writer at the age of five and began freelancing when he was a teenager, becoming a regular contributor to a number of national publications, as well as a freelance copywriter and editor.
He is currently working on his first novel,The Long, Delirious, Burning Blue and writes for The Guardian.
He is 34 and lives in Southwold, Suffolk, with his wife and daughter.
