William Thirsk-Gaskill

William Thirsk-Gaskill needed 5 attempts before being accepted by The Fiction Desk. He specialises in coming second in short fiction competitions (Grist 2012 and the 5 Minute Fiction 1st Birthday competition), but won the 5 Minute Fiction Christmas competition in 2012.

William lives in Wakefield and works as an IT consultant in Leeds. He co-presents a local radio programme in Halifax, called 'Themes for Dreamers'. He has been invited to front the appearance of the Grist poets at the 2012 Ted Hughes Festival. He has been commissioned to write a story to be published by Goggle Publishing in 2013.
