Academic Inspiration
As part of our mission to support the short story, The Fiction Desk has distributed free anthologies to students at universities across the UK.
The aim is to stimulate interest in short stories among the new generation of writers and readers. Our anthologies are handed out by lecturers to students on creative writing and literature courses, and either used as a basis for formal class discussion, or simply read and (we hope) enjoyed on a more casual basis.
To date, we've given out books worth a total of more than £10,000, usually in batches of 20 to 50 copies.
